A heart that longs for love, and that longs to find the way home to God, opens a pathway of light from the human, embodied self to the soul that exists eternally in the realms of spirit. This important connection creates a funnel that can transmit knowledge, love, light and comfort from the realms of spirit to your embodied self. Truly it can be said that longing is the path Home to God, for it activates all the forces of heaven and Earth to infuse you and your daily life with God’s light and love.

Spiritual longing not only activates spiritual growth and transformation, but it also activates the healing of any and all inner blockages to love that may exist within your being. Pain, resentment, anger and blame that are directed towards others eventually sap the life force from our own inner light, and so at some point on the spiritual journey, we are led to the path of forgiveness.

Forgiveness is a state of being that emerges from love. Forgiveness cannot be forced, especially if you have been abused, neglected, or treated cruelly, or have suffered trauma at the hands of others. In this kind of situation, healing needs to progress in stages, first by allowing yourself to feel all the emotions that resulted from the trauma.

This first stage of forgiveness involves not an immersion in the feelings, but an allowing of them to emerge, within a space of safety. The emotions need to be held in the container of God’s love. For many, this is best done with the support of others who can hold a healing space by offering you a loving and steady presence. This stage can last for a while if the traumas run deep, or can be passed through more quickly if there is sufficient light and love present to help in the transformation process.

After this phase there is a kind of lull, and a sense of emptiness, as the emotions that were held inside for so long are no longer existing within you. Like so many phases of spiritual life, one must first be emptied out before being filled with the new.

After this phase has passed, a sense of new life and hope begins to emerge naturally from the cleansing effects that happened during the period of emotional release. These emerge as seeds of the new that spring into consciousness or even appear in daily life as harbingers of a new day to come.

During this time, opportunities are given for you to review the past with fresh eyes. You may come to a deeper understanding of the meaning of the painful situations that you experienced. At this point, the opportunities for forgiveness begin to emerge. It is important to understand that these cannot be forced or manufactured.

Forgiveness can only come from a heart that is open and that has released the burden of anger and resentment fully. What this means is not that you will never feel anger or resentment again, but that you are no longer holding onto the anger. Instead, you are seeking to return to love, harmony and wholeness. You want to be released from the past so you can be free to live, love, and move forward into the new.

There are some things that we experience that are so terrible that it does not seem possible to forgive or heal from them. In this kind of situation, extra care is needed to not place judgments upon yourself. If you have experienced a severe trauma, you may not be able to experience forgiveness quite yet. You may need more time to go through the emotional healing process, and to pick up the pieces of your life, and to go deeper with your relationship with God.

To have the intention to forgive is the first step towards a complete freedom and release from the trauma. In some cases it may take time to arrive at this point. Once you are ready to be willing to forgive, your healing process has already begun.

Spiritual longing is the desire of the heart to be free, to be at one with the divine nature of our own being. Spiritual longing activates a profound process of transformation and healing that is capable to freeing us from even the deepest of traumas. Forgiveness, when it comes, is a blessing of love that releases us from the chains of the past and opens a new doorway to healing.

Forgiveness is one of God’s greatest gifts, and is greatly needed in today’s world. Your own healing process not only benefits you, but all those you come in contact with. As a freer and more loving being, you become more capable of being a presence of love and light for others during these very challenging times we live in. In this way, you contribute to the healing of the world, one heart at a time.

How should one approach the idea of religion?

As you approach spiritual ideology, you must crystallize your thinking as you would for any other top priority goal. You should ask of yourself your own questions like: should my objective include getting closer to God? Should I go to Church or to my special place of worship more often? How can I find a more heartfelt peace of mind? Should I see more of my Pastor, Priest or Rabbi? If I am going to connect with the material world, shouldn’t I also connect with God? How do I go about seeking spiritual liberty? What are my barriers? When should I begin my spiritual campaign?

Or What is spiritual?

Naturally, the definition of what constitutes “spiritual” varies from individual to individual. Each of us can make use of an opportunity to clarify our own thinking.

In addition, the meaning of life can encompass other areas besides the purely religious. For instance:

Some people write their thoughts in various forms. Some paint pictures. Some do needlepoint. As they say, “What’s your bag?” Creativity isn’t limited to writing or painting. Five key areas are essential to the development of spiritual maturity:

First, biblical knowledge. No verse better sums up the reason we need to know Scripture than II Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” Based upon that verse, we find our charge as Christians in II Timothy 2:15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.”

Second, godly character. In chapters such as Matthew 5-7, I Corinthians 13, and Romans 12, we find entire dissertations on the nature of a godly life. Yet Galatians 5:22-23 captures the whole: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

Third, sanctified mind. As we work out our salvation, it touches all parts of us, and the mind is key. Colossians 3:2 states simply, “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” And Romans 12:2 exhorts us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Fourth, spiritual discernment. In I Thessalonians 5:21-22, we find these closing words: “Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” And again in Hebrews 5:14, we find spiritual maturity linked to discernment: “But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.”

Fifth, willing obedience. Jesus stated simply in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

These points can be summed up further: spiritual maturity is living a life characterized by right teaching and right living. The truth of the Bible should be demonstrated in every area of our lives: in our thoughts, our speech, our hearts, and our actions. When we do so, we will truly achieve “the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Step into Your Greatness…your spiritual  geography could be the key you’ve been looking for!

But even while we exist in the body and identify ourselves with it, there remains a spiritual particle, a spark of Light, within each of us. This spark is an aspiration to return to our root, the Creator.  

However, since we live in the physical bodies, we also feel other aspirations, desires for things that we know from the physical level of existence. Kabbalah divides these desires into bodily desires and human desires, where the bodily desires are desires for all the things that our body wants, such as food, shelter and sex. The human desires are the desires we have towards things we can acquire in society, like wealth, fame, power, honor and knowledge.

When we start paying more attention to our spiritual spark, the aspiration to the Creator, then we nourish that spark and enable it to grow. We thereby begin to identify ourselves with our spiritual existence, above the bounds of time and space, where we exist as souls.

This is exactly what Kabbalah helps us to do: nourish and increase our spiritual component, the spark of Light that connects us to our root. Through Kabbalah books we are able to gain contact with our spiritual existence, since the Kabbalists write to us from their own attainment of the spiritual existence. It is as if they are throwing us a rope, and all we have to do is catch it, that is, read their books properly.

The first step in learning how to read Kabbalah books properly is to realize that you’re reading about things that are happening on a higher, spiritual level. In other words, the text has nothing to do with this world or anything you already know. The fact is: There is no way for you to understand anything in the text and to grasp it intellectually, because you have no existing premises for this. The only thing you can do while reading is desire to understand, desire to develop the inner discernments that match the text in order to grasp it. And when you do this, what actually takes place is the creation of a fundamentally new, spiritual sensation within you.

Depending in how strongly one desires for this change to happen within him while reading a Kabbalah book, one grabs onto the rope that the Kabbalists are extending to him, and “pulls” himself up to the higher spiritual level that the text is describing. One exposes himself to that level’s influence and connects to it, thereby beginning to sense eternity and perfection, just like he did when he was first created by the Light.

We all have different names for the power greater than ourselves: we use the names God, The Divine, Lord, Beloved, Spirit, Great Spirit, Creator, Infinite Intelligence and Infinite Spirit. No matter what name we use, the power of light that we are communicating with does not change. The God of our understanding is there for each and every one of us no matter what our race, religion, creed, financial status, gender or sexual preference may be. Have you ever been in a family where Grandma was called Granny, Nana or Judy by different members of the family? No matter what name you knew her by, she was the same person and she loved all of you.

As you will see, I am using many names of the power greater than ourselves.

Whatever the Name: Know that God is there for you, no matter who you are.

Know that as you talk to the God of your understanding, your experiences should be positive. As you open up to the inner voice that is the birthright of every person, you will receive guidance that will help you in everything you do. Some people are afraid that if they open up to the spiritual realms, they will come into contact with so called “evil spirits.” But it often turns out that people who imagine they are seeing evil spirits are looking for the kind of sensationalism associated with so called “haunted houses” and dark spooky places. They may complain about the negative emotions they are feeling and refusing to acknowledge that they are looking for these negative experiences. If you focus on positive living, your experiences with spiritual realms will be positive and will enrich your life. Always remember that “Like Attracts Like.” Send out positive energy and you will receive positive energy.

Spirit speaks to us in many ways: through dreams, visions while we are awake, and through gut feelings that we have about what to do and what not to do. We often do not realize we are having Divine communications and instead give our imaginations the credit (or perhaps the blame) for creating such incredible visions of truth.

A woman named Heidi was in deep grief after her mother passed into eternal life. A few days after the funeral, Heidi was sitting at the breakfast table, and the spirit of her mother appeared to her. Heidi was fortunate, because she did not dismiss her experience as imaginary. She received incredible healing from the vision of her mother. This was a Divine gift Heidi received and she gave thanks.

We can all have incredible spiritual experiences if we remain open and realize that the God of our understanding can communicate in many ways. In this case, God sent Heidi a communication from the spirit of her mother.

When we have spiritual experiences we want to jump for joy and tell all our friends and relatives. Sometimes they do not understand and we feel defeated. In some cases, those who doubt us can make us doubt ourselves. If you want to walk the spiritual path, let the doubters have their opinions without letting them spoil your wonderful and evolving relationship to the Divine.

Divine Consciousness does not care if you change your mind. Your conversations with God are an ongoing relationship. As you evolve you may first perceive of God as an old man who sits up in heaven and directs your every move. At another time you may see God in the form of angels or spiritual guides. You may receive God’s message through channeling the ascended masters. God is God, no matter how you are receiving Divine love.

You are free to change your mind about your life: what you want to do and who you want to be with. God does not mind because as you evolve and learn you are going to change. And as God helps you grow, you also give back. Have you ever considered that as you come up with new ideas, perhaps God learns from you? We all need to ponder the possibility that as we evolve as human beings, God also evolves.

Let us pray together for love. Let us banish fear and worry from our lives. As we live in love and gratitude each day, our lives will improve. As we become more humble, and less ego-centered, life will take on a radiance never known before. Love will pour from our hearts and others will benefit. We will be able to solve the problems of our troubled world and bring messages of love, hope and peace.

This has been said before over and over again, because it is worth saying. The truth is the truth is the truth and like the Divine, truth does not change.

The human spirit is undoubtedly connected to the human body. Transcendental tendencies which require a total isolation of the carnal form result in failure and frustration. On the contrary, embracing both dimensions of human existence has been regarded, mostly in Oriental religions, as the right way to ultimate knowledge.

Spiritual jewelry has played a vital role in this process. Imperfect as humans may be, tangible signs of that which is abstract or a sensible shape of that which is difficult to define has always been a strong necessity. Therefore, associating a small decorative object (taking one shape or another) with religious beliefs is not at all an uncommon practice around the world and throughout history.

Symbols and meanings of spiritual jewelry are always plentiful. The idea of creating spiritual jewelry without meaning or spiritual substance is obviously a paradox. Therefore, whatever sign it represents, whether it is more or less obvious, its influence will definitely not be a random one.

According to Indian beliefs only that part of the body which is covered in spiritual jewelry can be considered beautiful. Otherwise, a jewel-free appearance is simply unsatisfactory and incomplete. This is the point from where the significance of such items of jewelry springs. It is but a matter of symbiosis: the female body without it is austere and not at all graceful; spiritual jewelry without direct connection to the human nature and metaphysical symbols is hollow and meaningless.

In ancient times, spiritual jewelry also had the purpose of transforming the image of the person who wore it; it was believed that the individual wearing it could reach the perfection and ultimate beauty that was specific to nature alone. Therefore, people wearing it were not only beautiful in an earthly, perceivable way, but they were also protected by misfortune and destined for good luck. It was only natural that the abundance of symbols from nature, and then architecture principles should finally contemplate the human body as a form of everlasting search for perfection and cosmic unity.

In the ancient times, there was the Tika, a complex piece of jewelry made of a chain, a hook and a pendant. Worn in the parting of the hair, it stood for the woman’s role of preservation in the world. Nowadays, things may be surprisingly similar… Upon further inspection, you will probably agree that even in present times, spiritual jewelry has the purpose of offering protection, good luck and healing; in addition, it will attract attention to a certain part of the body and offer it a wonderful, unique touch.

It is also a matter of position – spiritual jewelry, when positioned right, can work wonders. Necklaces, for example, are among the most popular, since they are positioned very close to the heart, and thus are believed to have a greater power of influencing the flow of feelings.
